Does anyone else get mental health benefits from paddling besides me? I experience all kinds of different emotions when it comes to paddling. Much excitement and anticipation when it comes to taking trips on the river. Calmness and contentment when I am on the river, and a feeling of accomplishment when I return home. I also get a lot of healing when I spend time with other people, and also when I do trips alone. Sometimes when I am stressed, a good hard paddle works out that negative energy. I would love to hear your experiences with paddling and mental health. Since I started paddling, I have decreased my anti-anxiety and anti-depression medication to almost nothing.

Hello I am 65 years old. Two years ago, when COVID hit, I knew that I have to get healthy or possibly die from that dreaded illness.
