Paddling for Paddle for Heroes

About Paddle for Heroes: Many people with disabilities miss out on the everyday activities that many of us take for granted. The water can be a healing place for people who are suffering or been through a traumatic event. Kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding can help people relieve stress and begin to heal. Getting on the water can be a struggle for those individuals due to physical limitations.

Paddle for Heroes, a small veterans’ organization, works diligently to involve veterans, first responders, and others with river clean-ups, community projects, disaster relief, and healing through paddling. The organization works with local organizations to do yearly river clean-ups so that everyone can enjoy the rivers.   https://www.paddleforheroesmidwest.org/

I’m Curtis Casto, a 65-year-old U.S. Army veteran and a member and supporter of Paddle for Heroes. It has been my dream to paddle the entire Ohio River from Pittsburg, PA to Cairo, IL.  The trip will take me approximately 35 days and covers 981 Miles.  I will be camping along the way at various locations. I can use some help with places to stay along the way, if you can help me please contact me on my Face Book Group: A Good Paddling At 65! or at this web site. I will be leaving on May 1, 2022.

PLEASE SUPPORT ME ON THIS TRIP, AND PADDLE FOR HEROES

I’m seeking pledges for each mile that I will be paddling. The entire trip is 981 miles. If you can pledge a penny a mile, a nickel a mile, a dime a mile or a dollar a mile — any help will be appreciated. NONE of the pledges will be used for my expenses on this trip, I will cover them all myself and have some support from people along the way. Paddle for Heroes is a 501 C3 registered non-profit organization, so all your pledges will be tax deductible. They are a worthwhile organization that deserve your support.

PLEASE PLEDGE BY VISITING PADDLE FOR HEROES AT https://www.paddleforheroesmidwest.org/  or on Facebook at Paddle for Heroes
